The Birthplace of Our Country

It's late here on the East Coast and I'm a bit behind on the blog so this entry is going to be a bit shorter tonight!

We visited the city of Philadelphia a few days ago and to visited some historic sites...

We got to spend some time in the fairly new National Constitution Center. The museum contained many cool, interactive exhibits showcasing the document's role in the history of our country. Here's Megan with some statues of the signers of the Constitution!

Next up was a tour of Independence Hall. It was pretty neat to be in the same room that our country was founded in!

Later, we got a chance to view the famous Liberty Bell!

During the day, we also visited Betsy Ross' house and saw Benjamin Franklin's grave. Philadelphia is such a historic city and it was neat to take it all in!

In the next day or so, I'll post about our visit to the Air and Space Museum's hanger (where all the really big stuff is kept!) and our time in Alexandria. Then, I will attempt to compose one blog about our time in Washington D.C. (this might be difficult though; I might have to split it up into multiple posts but we'll see!) Sorry for the shorter blog post this time! I'll be sure to go into more detail in the next one! :)
